  7. I am absolutely dumbfounded over Lanegan’s obscurity in the vast talentless musical wasteland of the twenty-first century. He is a black diamond in the rough. The Gravedigger’s Song is spellbinding, sexy, and cool – three fundamental elements that are so characteristic of Lanegan’s style and portends the dark promise embodied in Blues Funeral.

The Gravedigger’s Song paints a vivid horrorshow of ominous imagery that flashes by like a sinister glissando of wickedness and light, arousing the listener with a pulsating rhythm that beckons the beast.

I’ve been anxiously waiting for the unveiling of Lanegan’s new solo album, and judging from the first single, it will not disappoint.

  18. To state what I’m about to makes me feel I may come across like one of those fuck-head fan-boys but I’m going to write it anyway. Mark Lanegan possess that rare quality that very few performers have, when he sings it’s like you’re hearing an ultimate truth. Johnny Cash had the exact same quality…he sang and we believed. Like it was born of a wisdom hard won. I’m sat here now listening to Mark and thinking how very lucky music is to have him. I’m hoping Mark continues to provide us with the luxury of his talent for many years to come.
See you in Manchester UK Mark. Good luck with the release. Steve – Liverpool UK.

  21. I just wanna say that you’re one the greatest true, pure lyricists and musicians to have ever existed, i really like your music, the sincerity in it just makes cry, Winding Sheet is among my favourites but i just felt like music revived and my feelings had a taste of what to be alive feels like when i heard the gravedigger’s song, i see those tour dates and i feel jealous too probably because im currently living in south america and think im not gonna make it for any of your shows, thanks for this new album Mark, just thank you for the music!!!
